Journal,
Jesus did not come into our world to give us another religion. We as humans have done that very well on our own. We love to run about declaring how our religion is the true religion.
What a dismay it is when we look to religion rather than why Jesus came into our world.
Jesus came to bring us into the Father’s heavenly family.
So, what is the Scriptural evidence that we are in the family of God?
There are several evidences, however, a primary evidence is the evidence of having heard and in continuing to hear and continuing to know the voice of the Shepherd. (Only Jesus can speak to us with the heavenly voice.)
If You Have Heard His Voice
Let’s begin with a portion of Psalm 95:
[note note_color=”#dbfba4″ text_color=”#501e9b”]“Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.“For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah … “ (Psa 95:6-11) [/note]
This Scripture part is important in that it is directly quoted in the book of Hebrews. Hearing the voice of God has always been the keynote of our relationship with heaven. You can trace this through the Scriptures from the beginning.
And so, now take note to these witnesses:
“When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.“ (Joh 10:4-5)
And again,
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” (Joh 10:27-28)
Now pay very close attention to the following witness:
“I HAVE OTHER SHEEP, WHICH ARE NOT OF THIS FOLD; I MUST BRING THEM ALSO, AND THEY WILL HEAR MY VOICE; and they will become one flock with one shepherd.” (Joh 10:16)
Did you notice what the Lord said about the other sheep? All God’s people will hear the voice of the Shepherd.
What Distinguishes a True Christian
One question remains. Have you heard the voice of the Shepherd? You must decide for yourself if you belong to the family of God, and if you are truly Christian. (Christian is the family name.)
Throughout the earth today, the Lord God is speaking to the hearts of many. This is especially true with regard to the world of Islam. According to a major Muslim cleric, literally millions of Muslims, especially in Africa, are becoming Christian.
God is speaking to these people in dreams and visions, and in personal visitations.
Now, with regard to the other sheep, please take time for this video of how a militant Islamic extremist came to know Jesus personally. It may give you pause for checking your own Christian credentials.
