\t\t\t\t\"Dreams\"<\/span><\/strong>“It will come about after this that I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

“Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”<\/em>\u00a0(Joe 2:28-29)<\/span><\/p>\n

J<\/span>ournal,<\/p>\n

Have you ever had a discouraging moment? Sure you have. We all have. And yet it is often in these discouraging moments that we find the Lord speaking into our lives in a special way.\u00a0He often allows us to see past the veil, that is, to see things the way He sees them.<\/p>\n

Our first question would be, \u2018What is the veil that God allows us to see past?\u2019<\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/i>Paul gave us an understanding of the veil that lies over the unbelieving heart.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut their minds were hardened<\/span> [The context has to do with those of the Jewish nation and leadership, who turned away from Jesus.]<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c \u2026 for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNow the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. <\/span><\/p>\n

“But we all\u00a0[true believers]<\/span>\u00a0with unveiled \"Theface, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/em> (2Co 3:14-18)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

What God Allows Us to See<\/h3>\n

What God allows us to see through the veil is three-fold. He let’s us see the beauty and the glory of Jesus. This is God’s transforming aspect of seeing past the veil.<\/p>\n

God also lets us see our relationship to heaven by our oneness in Christ Jesus. This is that part of, ‘Nothing will ever separate you from My love.’<\/em><\/p>\n

But He also lets us see our walk with the Lord, the way He sees us.<\/p>\n

The Lord pulls back the veil often for every believer. We may not realize what is happening at the time, simply because the Lord has so many ways to minister to our hearts. It can be during a time of Bible devotion. It can be in a church service. It can be while we are traveling.<\/p>\n

It could well be when you are standing before a mirror, getting ready for the day. Something is troubling you. But for some unknown reason, you begin to sing. That song is what the Bible calls, ‘a song of deliverance.’ It comes from the Lord.<\/p>\n

When you look back over your life, you will recognize how often the Lord has been there. And in many instances it will happen during a time of struggle or a time of confusion.<\/p>\n

Most of the music and songs the Lord has given me over the years, have come by way of God letting me see through the veil. Not necessarily during a time of struggle. Many times He is letting me see something wonderful about Jesus.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Been so long now that I don’t really remember what was happening at the time. Whatever the case, I must tell this story. It is one of the many times that the Lord allowed me to see things as He sees them.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It Can Even Be in a Dream<\/h3>\n

In the dream I was crossing a large open field, heading for home. I had many miles to travel, and I was on foot. I just wanted to make it home. I felt so lonely.<\/span><\/p>\n

The large open field was dry and brown. The grass had withered from lack of moister. There was no life in it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then it happened. As I looked back across the field where I came from, I saw a group of people looking at me.\u00a0\"Footsteps\"They kept looking up at me and then at the ground.\u00a0What are they looking at? Why are they pointing at me?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

What I saw next startled me. Looking back across the field, I saw that each of my footsteps had green grass springing up in it. Yes, it was just a dream.<\/span><\/p>\n

That was it. In that dream, God was showing me something that I could not see with my natural eyes. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He was letting me see things the way He sees them..<\/span><\/span>[\/box]<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Seeing With the Eyes of Faith<\/h2>\n

God’s\u00a0encouragements may not always come in the form of a dream. As I shared earlier, the Lord has many ways of speaking to us. W<\/span>here we see discouragement, God let’s us see our victory in Christ.<\/p>\n

And so, when we begin to feel so unworthy, God says,\u00a0<\/span>“You are My child. I have plans for your life. Don’t be discouraged.’<\/em><\/p>\n

Perhaps this is why the apostle Paul instructed us to take care about judging a brother or a sister. In writing the Corinthians, Paul said,<\/p>\n

“Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.”<\/em>\u00a0(1Co4:5)<\/span><\/p>\n

But Paul also spoke of the eternal vision that the Lord gives His people. Moses had it. David had it. All the prophets had it. And God’s children today are also given eternal vision.<\/p>\n

Note what is says of Moses:<\/p>\n

“By faith he [Moses] left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him who is unseen.<\/span><\/strong><\/em>”\u00a0(Heb 11:27)<\/span><\/p>\n

\"eyes\"Now listen to Paul:<\/p>\n

“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. <\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

“For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while …,<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

“…we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen<\/span><\/strong>; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”<\/em>\u00a0(2Co 4:16-18)<\/span><\/p>\n

My best advice to any believer is simple –<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Don’t Look at Things As They Appear to Be<\/h2>\n

The Lord has a road map for your life. God knows every struggle you will ever face. His plans for you are far greater than you could ever imagine. The apostle said that your every struggle is serving a purpose of eternal glory.<\/p>\n

In closing out this devotional study, I want to share with you a prophecy given to David. The prophecy is Messianic. It speaks of Christ and the covenant life that the Lord God has provided for each of His children.<\/p>\n

Take time to savor each thing that David has to say. The Lord wants to speak to your heart —<\/p>\n[note color=”#d1fbf1″]“Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse declares, the man who was raised on high declares, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, <\/span><\/p>\n

“The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, ‘He who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God, is as the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through sunshine after rain.’ <\/span><\/p>\n

“Truly is not my house so with God? For He has made an everlasting covenant with me, ordered in all things, and secured; for all my salvation and all my desire, will He not indeed make it grow?”<\/span><\/em><\/strong> (2Sa 23:1-5)[\/note]\n
